The POD Project
The POD is a portable recording booth designed like our station logo. Created through funding from NZ On AIR's Digital Content Partnership Fund The POD is our way of getting Canterbury people on air and online, telling their stories, giving their perspective, sharing their experiences. Instead of coming to us we have decided to get out and about and come to you!
We are particularly interested in how young people use the media and teaching them the skills to broadcast good quality audio content. So we have developed a teaching unit that integrates beautifully into the current Year 7 and 8 curriculum but which can also be adapted to other ages.
Currently we pre-record audio but soon we will have the ability to broadcast live. That will be really fun and allow us to get to know even more about Canterbury and Cantabrians.
Our POD adventures have taken us to Culture Galore, the Student Services Expo, CPIT Orientation, Chartfest, Eco Expo and The Santa Parade. We're also off to KidsFest this year.
