Women On Air was lucky enough to have the only radio interview in NZ with Bishop KATHARINE JEFFERTS SCHORI from the United States when she paid a fleeting visit to Christchurch this week. What an inspiration!
She has a PhD in oceanography & was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in 1994. She believes science & religion make good companions and her philosophy is very clear - we are all interconnected and there is room in the Church for everyone - conservatives, evangelicals and progressives.
Every community is made richer when it embraces diversity. She is currently the Presiding Bishop for the whole of the United States - the first woman to be elected as a primate of the world wide Anglican Communion. Hear her discussion with Ruth Todd on Women On Air on Saturday 3 rd July at 10am or look out for the podcast.
