ANZAC Day is just around the corner and Women on Air has a special hour of ANZAC themed interviews this Saturday from 10am.
Lorraine Shannon, President of the Christchurch Nurses' Memorial Chapel talks about the sinking of the Marquette in WW1 in which Christchurch nurses were drowned - the wreck of the ship was found only last year so their service on Sunday will be remembering this.
Susan Brocker will be on the line from Northland about an excellent new children's book Brave Bess - the story of the horse that went to WW1 with hundreds of other horses and was the only one that returned to NZ after the war.
Rachel Teen will be talking about her photographic journal RSA Country. Rachel travelled the length of New Zealand with her camera visiting as many of the operating Returned Service Association clubs in the country as possible which brought her into contact with the servicemen and women, many of whom were instrumental in laying the foundations for the RSAs we see today.
Plains FM will also be replaying the interviews with Lorraine Shannon and Susan Brocker at 4pm and 4:30pm on ANZAC Day, Sunday 25 April
